Ultrasound Guided Fascial Plane Blocks/ Regional Anesthesia Education
? Sartawi R (2023) Accuracy and Reliability of the Erector Spinae Plane Injection, Retrolaminar Injection and Combined Erector Spinae and Retrolaminar Injection in Thiel Cadavers. University of Dundee. Supervisors: Dr Clare Lamb and Professor Graeme Mcleod. PhD project: The erector spinae plane block (ESP) and retrolaminar block are two innovative facial plane blocks administered with ultrasound guidance. While both procedures are considered safe and straightforward, they are also known for their inconsistency and unreliability. Consequently, this project proposes that combining the ESP block and RL block may result in more dependable and precise outcomes. This newly proposed block could serve as a viable alternative to the paravertebral block for delivering effective anaesthesia to the thoracic wall. Focusing on breast cancer patients, this research endeavours to introduce a fresh approach to pain management, specifically targeting individuals experiencing chronic postoperative pain. ? Sartawi RY, McLeod G, Mustafa A, Lamb C. (2021) Randomized trial comparing the spread of erector spinae block with the combination of erector spinae block and retrolaminar block in soft embalmed Thiel cadavers.
