Work experiences General Physician from 01/07/2007 to 01/09/2012 in: • Princess Basma Teaching hospitals [Jordan] • King Abdullah University Hospital [Jordan] • Royal Medical Services [Jordan] Skills and Hands on Experience • Knowledge of appropriate specimen types, specimen collection, transport and processing • Strong practical experience in the isolation, characterization and identification of bacteria and fungi. • Direct microscopic examination of clinical materials, including light and fluorescence microscopy, for the morphologic diagnosis of infectious diseases • Using a variety of biochemical and molecular methods to determine infection causing organisms. • Interpreting results of assays performed in the medical microbiology laboratory, including antimicrobial susceptibility tests and molecular diagnostic tests • Molecular Techniques: ELISA, biofilm microtiter assay and DNA extraction. • Isolating cells and growing them in culture (Primary bronchial epithelial cell culture) • Interpreting and correlating the clinical status of a patient with the results of medical microbiology testing. • Principles of disinfection and sterilization and laboratory safety • Competence in educating others in the knowledge, skills, and abilities related to medical microbiology. • Recording, analysing and interpreting data • Writing research papers, reports and reviews • Preparation and submission of articles for peer-reviewed publications
