Dr. Omar Al-Hattamleh a Professor of Civil Engineering and Geotechnical Engineering
Dr. Hattamleh earned his Ph.D. from Washington State University, United States of America, in 2003. Dr. Hattamleh's research interests encompass bifurcations and instabilities in geomechanics, microstructure characterization and simulation of geomaterials, environmental geotechnics, ground improvement, geosynthetics, and rock mechanics.
Dr. Hattamleh's publications were spanned from an estimation of rock engineering properties using index and nondestructive testing, crushing of granular materials, and collapsibility of metastable soil. Dr. Hattamleh studied the microstructure and fabrics of granular soil using ct-x-ray un-invasive techniques and then simulated the response of element tests through advanced finite element modeling. Moreover, Dr. Hattamleh tackles the problems associated with some problematic soils such as expansive soil with different types of additives such as physical and chemical additives. Moreover, he extended his research to include the various inclusions used in current geotechnical practice, such as geotextiles and discrete fabrics.
Lastly, Dr. Hattamleh works on the enhancement of construction materials through innovative physical inclusion or construction techniques.

تحصل الدكتور عمر الحتاملة على درجة الدكتوراة في الهندسة المدنية من جامعة ولاية واشنطون في الولايات المتحدة الامريكية عام
2003 . تتنوع اهتمامات الدكتور عمر البحثية في عدة مجالات منها: تقييم ثبات المواد الارضية و التقييم المجهري و الدقيق للمواد
الارضية و محاكات السلوك الافتراضي للمواد الارضية و تحسين و تثبيت و تدعيم المواد الارضية و تقيم الكتل الصخرية.
تشعبت ابحاث الدكتور عمر المنشورة من تقييم الكتل الصخرية باستخدام الفحوصات المجسية و لا هدامة الى دراسة سلوك المواد
الحبيبية اثناء تعرضها لأحمال تؤدي الى تفككها و تقييم انهدامية الترية الطبيعية او المبنية بيد البشر. :كما قام الدكتور عمر بنشر
ابحاث ذات صلة بالتكوين الدقيق و الداخلي لترب الرملية سواءا باستخدام اجهزية مجهرية دقيقة او ادوات حديثة متطور كالتصوير
الطبقي المحوري المستخدم للاشعة السينية عالية الجهد. و بعد ذلك قام الدكتور حتاملة بمحاكات النتائج باستخدام الطرائق العددية
الحدية المتطورة. كما تصدى الدكتور حتاملة للمشاكل المتعلقة ببعض الترب المعيبة كالترب لانتفاخية و الانهدامية ياستخدام مختلف
انواع الاضافات المعروفة سواءا الفيزيائية او الكيميائية. كما تطرق في ابحاثة الى استخدمات المواد الفيزيائية المتقطعة و شرائح
الجيوتكستايل لتحسين كافة انواع الترب.
و اخيرا قام الدكتور حتاملة بتحسين مواد البناء المستخدمة لزيادة القوة او احتمال الظروف المناخية باستخدام اضافات فيزيائية او
بتباع اساليب هندسية مبتكرة .
