Curriculum Vitae

Welcome Message

                                       Welcome to my Academic Webpage

I currently serve as the division cheif of Internal Medicine and an assistant professor of Medicine in Transplant Nephrology.  The main missions of the Department of internal Medicine are education, outstanding patient care scholarship and discovery. These missions are supported by exceptional staff in the department. We are dedicated to providing our students with high quality scientific humane enjoyable experience that is  educationally rewarding and challenging.

My career goal is to anchor my practice and academic inquiry in a solid foundation that encompasses the the science and technical practice of transplantation while maintaining a personal connection with the patients I manage. Academia is my chosen path because it fosters a continuous exchange of ideas as well as interaction among colleagues enabling me to contribute and keep up to date with new advances in medicine. It is a good fit because it strengthens my interests in combining clinical research with advances in basic research, and clinical experience. As well it gives me the opportunity to teach students, residents, and fellows, something I enjoy immensely.
My research interests have been mainly focused on issues related to post-transplant bone disease. More specifically I have explored changes in the FGF-23- PTH-25(OH)D access in both pre-transplant and post-transplant periods. I have published research manuscripts, book chapters, and review articles on post-transplant bone disease under the supervision and direction of,,my mentors. In addition to presenting the research data at national meetings like ASN and NKF. I am looking forward to joining an academic institution that will allow me to strengthen and support my research interests in this area. Over the next few years my career goal will be focused on continuing my study of both pre and post kidney transplant CKD-MBD and establishing a CKD-MBD and bone health clinic. The ultimate goal would be to identify fundable research questions, write research proposals and articles, collect and analyze data, and manage multiple projects as my career progresses.

Selected Publications & Scientific Research

The DSR is mainly concerned with promoting and supervising research activities at HU. Scientific research is facing major challenges and constraints, which mandate creating appropriate research environment, effective management protocols, and updated legislations and regulations. As the progress in scientific research necessitates continuous development of supplies and equipment, the Deanship provides financial support to enable researchers to conduct research. The university allocates annually at least 3% of its budget to support scientific research proposals that focus on the needs and priorities of public and private sectors and contribute in solving problems of local communities.
